Wedding Paper Cut

Our lovely friend Angela gave this to us recently! It’s a paper cut portrait of us on our wedding day, with the words “Nothing Can Change This Love” (which is the title of the Sam Cooke song that Andrew and I danced to at our wedding).

It’s absolutely stunning and we love it so much. Angela makes beautiful paper cuts and never ceases to amaze me with her talent. I wish she had a website that showcased all her work so I could share it with all of you, but until then take a look at these detail shots. Super fantastic!

It’s been over a week and I’ve been too swamped to post this wonderful news! Some of you are already aware, but last week I was featured on the blog spruce [décor]. I was interviewed for the “Midwest Minute” section and am super thankful to Lissa for having me. You can check out the feature here.

Modern Vintage

I want to give a big thank you to two people, Wanwisa of Modern Vintage for posting about our wedding, and to Laura Budde for recommending us and for making my beautiful dress. You can check out Modern Vintage Designs for the feature or click here to go directly to the post.

Thanks again!

Very exciting news!! Yesterday, our wedding was featured on two of my favorite blogs: Design*Sponge and Brooklyn Bride. I love both of these sites and have been following them for inspiration for awhile now.

Design*Sponge I’ve read since 2004 or 2005 and am continually impressed with Grace’s fresh outlook and impeccable sense of style. Brooklyn Bride I started reading right after we decided to get married. I’d never planned a wedding before and Vané had created the ultimate guide for cool wedding stuff. Even if you aren’t planning a wedding, it’s a great resource for some great photographers, designers, calligraphers and other not-necesarally-always-wedding stuff.

You can go directly to the posts here (Design*Sponge), here (Brooklyn Bride: Part 1), and here (Brooklyn Bride: Part 2).

Thanks to both of these talented ladies!

Photobooth

I imagine we’ll be posting a lot about our wedding. Another HUGE thing that’s happened in the past 7 months that we haven’t posted anything about. We put so much work into trying to make it a wonderful and amazing day. For the most part, we succeeded. There were definitely somethings I would have changed, but I’m not going to think about them. Instead, I’m going to start off with the Photobooth that we rented. One of the best ideas we had!! It was a splurge for us, but in the end it was worth it. So many great memories are captured in those strips of black and white photos. We definitely suggest it to anyone who wants to try something different than a traditional wedding album.

Here are photos that my roommate from college, Rachel, took from the outside: (click for bigger image)

And ones of my brother and his girlfriend on the inside:

Summertime

If you’ve been trying to view our site lately, you probably noticed that it was re-directing you to a page saying we haven’t uploaded any content. Turns out that I needed to renew our domain name, which ended up being a week-long, super frustrating process. A number of times, I felt like ripping my hair out, screaming, and crying out “Why is this happening to me?!” But it’s all figured out and we’re back up.

Today I’ve been uploading like crazy to Flickr. Now that there video uploading capabilities, I’ve added a year worth of videos, that i’m sure no one but my family cares to see. Along with about a million photos of my family.

Above is a little sampler of photos from our wedding. Our photographer, Lauren Crew, is amazingly talented!!! Check out her site here.
